The Lithuanian bus manufacturer ALTAS AUTO presented the MAN TGE Cityline bus developed in cooperation with MAN on the stand of MAN during the world’s biggest B2B bus and coach exhibition Busworld Europe held in Brussels. MAN TGE Cityline is an 18-seat low-floor bus intended for urban and suburban routes and also suitable for transporting the disabled.

MAN TGE Cityline is provided with a 2-litre 130 kW diesel engine. To ensure the smooth and comfortable driving, the vehicle is provided with a seven-speed transmission and a rear air suspension.

“We have developed five new products for this year’s exhibition. Two of these were waiting for their global presentation at Busworld Europe and both of them were developed based on the MAN body. It has become a tradition to present products waiting for their first launch to our partners prior to exhibitions. Several months before the Europe’s biggest bus and coach exhibition, MAN TGE Cityline received the highest praises from MAN’s management and a proposal to first present this Lithuanian-made bus at a special space on the German manufacturer’s stand in Brussels next to the other novelties proposed by the German company. This decision of our business partners was a very pleasant surprise to us and a high appraisal for the ALTAS AUTO team. We view it as MAN entrusting us the development of this product and we are very proud that our cooperation has resulted in the creation of a premium quality and visually appealing urban low-floor bus,” said general director of the company Edvardas Radzevičius.

The ALTAS AUTO team of engineers and designers has developed the new urban and suburban bus in cooperation with experts of MAN. We have agreed with them on all the equipment and structural, finish and other materials to be used in the bus.

The other bus that is presented during the exhibition for the first time is also manufactured based on the MAN body. The 19-seat suburban bus MAN TGE Multiline was presented on the ALTAS AUTO stand. It is one of the most demanded minibuses manufactured by the company, which has become very successful in Scandinavia where the universality of vehicles is valued.

The ALTAS AUTO stand also displayed Altas Viator, a medium-sized tourist bus with the unique structure and design from ALTAS AUTO that was first presented last year during the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) held in Hannover. It is the first bus created in independent Lithuania. Its serial production was commenced this year.

Next to the Altas Viator, which was recognised as the Product of the Year 2018 in Lithuania, visitors could see the exclusive 16-seat Businessline bus and the 22-seat Cityline bus designed for the mountainous areas of Europe and provided with an electromagnetic braking system enabling to safely drive on steep slopes. Both models were developed based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base of the new generation.

ALTAS AUTO has participated in Busworld Europe for the sixth time already. The company presented its products here for the first time back in 2007; back then, it was the only participant manufacturer of small buses from Eastern Europe.
